A new semester

Spent winter break back in KL and also managed to send Mich off to Australia before celebrating Chinese New Year. Those 3 weeks came by so quickly that it felt like I didn't go back at all.

In the blink of an eye, I've to leave my precious ChiChi again.

And so my peaceful days in Malaysia was peaceful no more when Hang and the gang ransacked my place in search of me. All no thanks to that good cousin of mine for leaking the information.
As punishment keeping my homecoming national secret, I had to suffer Paku's Nail of Doom.

Funny how they did not figure out that I was back even after messing around with my underwear and Nottingham China's student ID. Jay (Khew) Chou even took a photo with my ID.

Also celebrated Sheng's belated birthday at his place a week after I got back. Took photos with the birthday boy but couldn't get my hands on them yet. So here's a good photo to conclude that night's happenings.

Pain and agony.

And so came Chinese New Year where we went on our journey for another year of fine harvest. But sadly, many are not around. Ping, Cheng, Mich and Khew are in Australia. Then some of those that went together with us said that there're no one at their homes, which made it pointless to visit their homes lol.

As a result, all camwhoring and little angpow made Sum a dull boy.

We had quite a big group this year. Must be them fans of mine flocking over to see me. Sigh didn't know that I'm that popular lol. I even had a BMW to chauffeur me around to grab angpows.

Going out practically everyday since the start of Chinese New Year really wore me out. Furthermore, I spent very little time with my ChiChi. Sigh she must be frowning everyday for not being able to see me.

Don't fret, I'll be back in KL again in 3 months time. When I do, I'll help bathe you again.

Light snow shower

It snowed for awhile this afternoon for about 2 hours. Not much but enough for us to take some photos.

This was the best that I could capture to show that it IS snowing.

First time experiencing real snow in 20 years, 4 months and 2 days of my life. So I was enjoying myself staying out in the balcony, getting covered in snow.

Taking macro shots of them snowflakes.

After half an hour the snowing started, grasses and bushes accumulated quite some snows on them.

Then there was not much fun left in just snapping photos here and there. So, we helped ourselves to some snow-crafting at the football field.

Yes that was yours truly the retarded Sumyeh. Credit goes to JiaoHong for taking the the effort to walk around in circles on the field to make up that.

And here's one that I dedicate to my baby in Malaysia.

I miss you so much~ T_T

Chicken with Ginger & Spring Onion

It is always during examination times that I get to be creative and aspiring. =_="

Was longing for Malaysian food last night and this dish suddenly popped into my mind. Did some Googling and found the perfect recipe for me. Little ingredients, little time, wholesome of deliciousness.

I must give credit to Ms Sue from Cooking Momster for the easy yet wonderful recipe. Although I left out quite a few of the ingredients needed, it still tasted great. I reckon that if I were to open a restaurant here in China, I'd be bloody rich. Here're the ingredients I altered slightly from Cooking Momster's

Ingredients :
2 boneless chicken breasts, cut into semi-small pieces
1 knob sliced ginger
3 stalks spring onion, cut into 3cm length

Marinade :
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp light soya sauce
Pepper to your liking
1 tsp corn flour

Seasoning ingredients:
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp light soya sauce
Pepper to your liking
1/2 cup of water
Some cornflour for thickening

Procedure:

To prepare for this, you first marinate the chicken with the listed marinade ingredients for a few hours. For the seasoning ingredients, just throw them all into a bowl and mix well.

1. Heat some oil (I think I put in like, 8 tbsp worth) in a wok at medium heat. Throw in them sliced ginger and sautee for a few minutes to bring out the aroma.

2. Throw in marinated chicken and pour in seasoning mixture. Stir around till meat is no more reddish translucent.

3. Add in the chopped spring onions. Stir around a little more and it is ready to serve. If you find that the gravy is all dried up simply add more water and stir some more.

And... jeng jeng jeng.

Coupled with some lettuce with oyster sauce, a complete meal. You get all of them carb, protein and fiber. This is 9999999999x better than canteen food and street food.

Alright now to get some sleep and hopefully get started with revisions tomorrow.

Welcome to my life

This is something 3 months old but... oh well.

And so, us international students have our very own building.

That was the back door. We don't get that 'International Student Residence' sign at the front door.

And so here's how my room was when I first moved in, a huge mess.

 So I did some housekeeping.

First time in my life tidying up a whole room completely; sweeping, mopping, wiping, moving, arranging. And here's how it is after cleaning.

Pretty neat eh. Well my room's not as empty as it was now. Got rid of the TV and had some extra adhesive hooks to hook up my bags and clothes. Here.

And so, welcome to my life.

Of revision & of poetry

How long has it been since I ever cared about revision? 7 years? Amazing how I passed all those tests and even managed to get into year two though I know nuts about my programme lol.

It is 7.43AM now.

I want to continue revision on Finance but I got no notes.
I want to get them notes but I doubt the computer labs are yet open.
I want to sleep but I just took a two hour nap at 2.00AM.
I want to have breakfast but I got no bread to make myself hotdogs.
I want to buy them bread but again I doubt that the convenience store is open.
I want to have instant noodles but I had them for dinner last nite.
Even still if I choose to eat them tunas, I do not have them bread.
Ah, so many wants yet so many buts.
The very few of the many obstacles in life lol.

Alright enough bullshit. I'll go roam around in the 4°C cold outside in search of food.

By the way, here's a photo of how it looks like outside right now.

P/S: Notice all tree trunks are painted white? Why you wonder? I don't know either.
